Spark Plug Replacement
Dirty or worn plugs have a major impact on your Dodge Durango engine performance. A spark plug screws into each engine cylinder, and ignites at a precise moment to cause the compressed fuel-air mixture to burn in a regularly spaced series of controlled explosions. These mini-explosions provide the energy that allows your vehicle to move.
The plugs wear out due to age or other engine issues, like a fuel-rich engine, a damaged ignition coil, or electrical problems. If a plug can't ignite the mixture correctly, misfiring or stalling occurs. This wastes fuel and lowers performance, and continued misfiring or stalling will damage the cylinder, pistons, and other engine components. We'll check your plugs and replace damaged ones to fix this issue.
Blocked Catalytic Converter
The converter is part of your exhaust system. Once combustion occurs in a cylinder, its exhaust vent opens, and the gases and other combustion remnants are dumped into the exhaust system. These gases are dangerous and highly toxic, and the converter changes them into less harmful gases and water before they're expelled from the tailpipe.
Carbon is a byproduct of the conversion process and gradually builds up inside the converter. It will eventually block the exit from the converter, forcing the gases back into your engine. These gases increase your engine's internal pressure and can cause it to shut down, potentially suffering damage in the process. Our technicians can remove these blockages to protect your engine, and its performance will return to normal.
Radiator Flushing
The radiator is the center of your engine's cooling system. Engine heat is absorbed by fast-moving coolant and transported to the radiator. The coolant enters rows of thin metal tubes, and the heat is removed by air flowing over the tubes. Once the coolant has cooled, it circulates through your engine again.
Coolant also absorbs dirt and other debris in the engine and transports it with the heat to the radiator. When the coolant flows out of the radiator, it deposits this debris at the bottom. As time goes by, the debris will build up and eventually block the radiator. If this happens, your engine will overheat within minutes. We'll flush the radiator to remove the debris, and the cooling system will work effectively again.
