Today’s minivan market is extremely crowded and competitive, yet the 2024 Chrysler Pacifica still stands out among the rest. Even the base model has great standard features, and you won’t find many of its rivals offering you a list of options that includes a built-in vacuum cleaner. It’s no wonder that the Pacifica is not only on Car and Driver’s 2024 Editors’ Choice list but also in the top five of the magazine’s Best Minivans list.
Design
Four Pacifica models are gas-powered: Touring, Touring L, Limited, and Pinnacle. They all offer highly desirable benefits, but even the lowest trim level has superb standard and available features. The cabin’s interior is spacious and airy, with plenty of storage in slide-out bins and cubbies. Convenience and comfort features abound, with heated front seats and extra cushioning in the captain’s chairs. Also, the driver’s seat is power-adjustable eight ways with 4-way lumbar adjustments.
The dual-zone climate control system is voice-activated with rear-seat controls to keep everyone comfy. The Pacifica is the first line to have Stow ‘n Go seating, with second-row seats, flowing directly into the floor. Passengers can quickly and easily exit the Pacifica through the sliding rear passenger door. If the third-row seats are stowed, you could fit over 50 suitcases. Other standard features include heated side mirrors with integrated turn indicators and a power liftgate.
Performance
Front-wheel drive is standard throughout the 2024 Pacifica line. However, all-wheel drive is an option for the second trim level and higher, which is uncommon in comparable models. A V-6 engine with 287 hp, a 9-speed automatic transmission, and remote engine start are also standard on the base model. The Pacifica can tow up to 3,600 pounds.
Technology
The 2024 Pacifica’s lowest trim level has a standard sound system with six speakers, AM/FM stereo and SiriusXM satellite radio, speed-sensitive volume control, and steering wheel-mounted audio controls. The standard infotainment system features a 10.1-inch touchscreen display, Amazon Alexa integration, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay. A dual display in the back row is an option that the kids will love for streaming TV shows and movies.
Safety
Nothing is more important than your family’s safety and you can have complete confidence in the 2024 Pacifica’s protection. The National Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has given it a perfect 5-star overall safety rating. Chrysler has also made important safety and driver’s aid features standard even in the lineup’s base model, such as Blind Spot Warning, Forward Collision Mitigation, and Rear Parking Sensors. Additional features are available in this trim level as options, such as:
- Automated Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection
- Adaptive Cruise Control
- Lane Departure Warning
- Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert
