The Thrill of the Standard Engine

The Hornet's entry-level trim starts the lineup with a traditional 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo engine paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. An all-wheel-drive system provides enhanced stability and balanced handling as you glide around corners. This outstanding powertrain generates 268 horsepower and 295 lb.-ft of torque. When tested, the GT proved it was capable of launching from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just 6.5 seconds.

The Impressive Plug-In Hybrid

The R/T and R/T Plus trims are powered by a plug-in hybrid system. You'll have a turbocharged 1.3-liter four-cylinder engine mated to an electric motor. All-wheel drive continues to be standard on these trims.

The fuel-efficient plug-in hybrid system comes with an all-electric range of 32 miles and a total driving range of 360 miles. The fantastically peppy powertrain generates up to 288 horsepower and 383 lb.-ft of torque. The R/T has earned recognition as the fastest PHEV compact crossover around with a launch time of only 5.6 seconds.

The Track Pack

Available for all trim levels, Track Pack is a way to add an extra boost of fun to your daily driving experience. We love the stylish 20-inch Abyss finish wheels, Alcantara sport seats, and aluminum interior accents and pedals. The striking Red Brembo brake calipers add a hint of what this compelling SUV can do. This package also adds dual stage valve suspension for an even smoother ride when you head out on rough pavement.

The Modern Assist Tech

Dodge's driver assistance technology helps the Hornet adapt to the demands of daily driving. Blind spot monitoring and cross path detection aid drivers in staying aware of vehicles in the spots that are hardest to keep track of. Full-speed forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, and traffic sign recognition are all standard safety monitoring features providing additional support on the road.

An excellent ParkView rear backup camera and a rear park assist system from ParkSense come together to make parking lots a breeze. Adaptive cruise control includes stop-and-go so you can relax a little while you travel down highways. You'll also have a lane keep assist feature that will alert you when it notices the Hornet may be unintentionally heading out of your original lane.

The conveniences of a small SUV come together with the exhilarating performance features Dodge is known for to create a vehicle worth taking for a test drive. Contact K & J Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Breese, IL now to learn more about the new Hornet.

Dodge Durango's Engine Care: Tips for Optimal Performance

Your Dodge has a powerful, highly efficient engine that delivers peak performance. Even Dodge components will eventually wear out and need replacement. As your Dodge dealer, we want to give you a few examples of the Dodge engine maintenance we provide to keep your engine running perfectly and delivering the power you expect. Check out some examples of engine care for your Dodge Durango provided by your Dodge dealer which may or may not be available at a local garage. more Spark Plug Replacement Dirty or worn plugs have a major impact on your Dodge Durango engine performance. A spark plug screws into each engine cylinder, and ignites at a precise moment to cause the compressed fuel-air mixture to burn in a regularly spaced series of controlled explosions. These mini-explosions provide the energy that allows your vehicle to move. The plugs wear out due to age or other engine issues, like a fuel-rich engine, a damaged ignition coil, or electrical problems. If a plug can't ignite the mixture correctly, misfiring or stalling occurs. This wastes fuel and lowers performance, and continued misfiring or stalling will damage the cylinder, pistons, and other engine components. We'll check your plugs and replace damaged ones to fix this issue. Blocked Catalytic Converter The converter is part of your exhaust system. Once combustion occurs in a cylinder, its exhaust vent opens, and the gases and other combustion remnants are dumped into the exhaust system. These gases are dangerous and highly toxic, and the converter changes them into less harmful gases and water before they're expelled from the tailpipe. Carbon is a byproduct of the conversion process and gradually builds up inside the converter. It will eventually block the exit from the converter, forcing the gases back into your engine. These gases increase your engine's internal pressure and can cause it to shut down, potentially suffering damage in the process. Our technicians can remove these blockages to protect your engine, and its performance will return to normal. Radiator Flushing The radiator is the center of your engine's cooling system. Engine heat is absorbed by fast-moving coolant and transported to the radiator. The coolant enters rows of thin metal tubes, and the heat is removed by air flowing over the tubes. Once the coolant has cooled, it circulates through your engine again. Coolant also absorbs dirt and other debris in the engine and transports it with the heat to the radiator. When the coolant flows out of the radiator, it deposits this debris at the bottom. As time goes by, the debris will build up and eventually block the radiator. If this happens, your engine will overheat within minutes. We'll flush the radiator to remove the debris, and the cooling system will work effectively again. Don't risk engine damage.
